From Anchorage - 314 miles (8 hours)
Take the Glenn Highway out of town and into the Matanuska Valley, past the Parks Highway turnoff, through the town of Palmer, and follow it 130 more miles to Glenallen. Turn south in Glenallen (right hand turn, towards Valdez), taking the Richardson Highway 33 miles to the Edgerton Cutoff. Then turn left on the Edgerton Highway (a sign will point the way toward the Wrangell-St. Elias National Park), and 33 more miles to Chitina. Past Chitina, the pavement ends. You may fly in from here to avoid teeth chattering bumps. It's 60 miles to McCarthy. When you arrive at the footbridge at the end of the road, you may call us (for free) from the public phone there for a ride up to McCarthy (a little less than a mile). Otherwise, enjoy your stroll into McCarthy. You can't miss it. When you turn into town we are the first business. The road passes by us from behind and in front.

From Fairbanks - 374 miles (9 hours)
Take the Richardson Highway south through Delta Junction and Glenallen before taking a left at the Edgerton Highway to Chitian & McCarthy.

From Valdez - 176 miles (5 hours)
Take the Richardson Highway north 100 miles, then head right at the Edgerton Highway to Chitina & McCarthy

From Denali National Park - 359 miles (10 hours)
Head East from Cantwell on the Denali Highway. Dirt Road. Head south on the Richardson Highway from Paxson, through Glenallen, left on Edgerton Highway to Chitina & McCarthy
